Communications & Posters

Selected presentations will be published as a paper in a special issue of the Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health (JTEH) by Taylor & Francis, and there will be three Taylor & Francis Book Awards for the best student presentation in the amount of $ 200 each, at the Meeting.

Poster Communication

Height: 120 cm

Width: 90 cm

. The posters must be put up during the morning of the session (see the posters’ programme) until 9.30 am and removed after the presentation, until the end of the day.

. All posters that remained attached after the day of the session will be removed by the secretariat of the congress and will be kept until the end of the meeting.

. The author must remain next to his poster during the posters’ discussion period.

Oral Communication

Duration: total of 15 minutes (10 minutes of presentation and 5 minutes for discussion)

. Can only be used versions compatible with Microsoft Office. Preferentially .pps documents (Power Point Show).

. All presentation from Apple Mac must be in a format compatible with Microsoft Office.

. All presentations must be delivered in the session previous to his presentation.

Rules for Abstracts

. The authors have at their disposal two forms of Presentation: Oral and Poster.

. The Abstract and posters must be written in ENGLISH. The power point presentations should be in English. Oral communications must also be in English.

. The Scientific Committee may appoint and select abstracts submitted for presentation in Poster or oral communication, depending on the content or number of submitted works.

. The Scientific Committee may also not accept abstracts for the proposed oral Communication and suggest them for presentation in Poster, depending on the content or the number of presentations.

. The Abstracts must be original and not have been previously presented or published in other conferences, meetings and journals.

. The abstracts should not include figures, graphs or references, and have a limit of 3000 characters, excluding title, authors and authors’ affiliation.

. The abstracts should include the following: Introduction, Objectives, Materials and Methods, Results, Conclusion

. The author (s) may submit more than one abstract, provided they do not contain the same or similar data.

Rules for electronic submission

. Title: Should be in capital letters and not exceed 140 characters

. Type: Mode of presentation - (Oral Communication, Poster)

. Name of Main Author: The first author´s name should appear in the first field (Ex: Name and Surname (in full) – Carla Costa)

. Co-Authors: In the fields immediately below must include the co-authors (Ex: First name (only initial) and surname in full - M. Coelho)

. Institution

. Speaker: Name and surname (should be mandatorily registered in the Congress)

. E-mail: Ensure that it is a contact that actually works

Abstracts submitted will be accepted via e-mail. The accepted abstracts will be published exactly as submitted, it will not be possible a revision afterwards. The author(s) agree with the inclusion of their abstract in the conference website or in other publications of Congress. If you have any questions please contact us.

After sending Abstract

The corresponding author will be informed by email if the abstract has been accepted to be presented at the Congress, by 30 June 2011.

The author who is presenting the abstract must be registered in the Congress and have paid the registration until 30 July. After that date, if he has not made the registration payment, an email will be sent to cancel the abstract acceptance.
